Located in the epicentre of urban San Diego, the hotel is at 410 Elm Street, between 4th and 5th Avenues. Hotel Occidental is just a few blocks away from downtown, the Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, Hillcrest and the Convention Centre. A mere 2 blocks to the east is Balboa Park and San Diego Zoo.
The airport and major freeways are also found nearby, making it an ideal option for business and leisure travelers driving into San Diego. However, a car is not needed as you can walk everywhere or take the hotel's bikes for a tour around the city.
